The campsites are located on the pasture paddocks of the farm with sheep roaming the area, so dogs on leashes at all times, and please pick up after them. With large distances between other campers, each site can cater for large groups, with no close neighbours. The sites are at least 2km away from busy roads, so absolute peace and privacy! There's a beautiful push bike ride from Riverton to Clare Valley and all the wineries are along the way. Plenty of room at the property for kids to ride their push bikes. Fantastic sunsets and sunrises from all sites, and at its best at the SUNSET BAA. Beautiful bird noises, including the kookaburras having a laugh. There's a very very basic "long drop toilet" pit toilet located near the Gumtree paddock and 5 others shared, down close to the camping paddocks, if not wanting to use shared toilets, please bring and supply your own portable toilet. The property offers the best views of Clarendon via a short walk to the top paddock. There is a limit of 2 private, protected campsites near the creek, each well-maintained and level, with scattered gum trees that provide lovely shade in the morning and afternoon. Camp Toondilla is set up for self-contained campers who bring their own camp toilet and take all waste with them when they go. Well-behaved pets are welcome. Plenty of options in the area to keep the outdoor enthusiast busy, including: nearby wineries (some dog friendly), beaches (Moana and Aldinga/Silver Sands can be driven on), reservoirs (Mt Bold - hiking and views) and (Happy Valley - hiking, running, kayaking, fishing), Onkaparinga National Park and Scott Creek Conservation Park, ForestrySA land (including TreeClimb, Bone Gully MTB and parkrun on Saturdays at The Avenues - Kuitpo (Your host is the Event Director). We live in a beautiful hidden valley on 30 acres, We're joined by friendly dogs, horses, alpacas, rabbits, guinea pigs, 2 lovely Camels, 2 cheeky pigs, Galloway cows and chooks, along with the resident wildlife including many birds, kangaroos, koalas, shy owls, and even an echidna! All this, plus beautiful views from atop our hills, right to the lake, and the delightful winter creek complete with frogs. We are close to the McLaren Vale wine region as well as wineries throughout the Hills and 35 minutes to the coast of Victor Harbor. The Greenman Inn is 5 minutes down the road and has wonderful food from Wed to Sun if you do not feel the urge to cook with wood fires for the cold nights or a gorgeous outdoor area for the warmer months. At present, we offer two areas for camping. Topspot which has lovely views and is quite secluded amongst the tree tops. This site is suitable for tents and camper trailers (need reasonable backing skills and 4WD) The Laneway which is close to the babbling creek is suitable for those with a small caravan, or motorhome, 2WD etc, along with tent campers. (but would struggle with large caravans/motorhomes - please check with hosts) (The Lookout/Highview has spectacular views Please note this site is currently closed due to stock rotation.) If you have any doubts about which to book, please ask. AUTUMN/WINTER MONTHS: if we receive considerable rain the trek up to the hill sites could become slippery and not accessible as it is a farm paddock, therefore unfortunately your booking may need to be cancelled. NOTE: On our farm there is limited phone coverage in the valley (The Laneway). Pets are welcome, however, please ensure they are kept under control (unless discussed with the host) at all times. Please note: This is an active small farm, therefore work may need be continued throughout your stay possibly necessitating the use of machinery and tending to our livestock. If you wish to see some of the animals up close, please let us know and we will try to accommodate. Potential for vineyard and with an airfield close by and a quality dirt road running along the Western boundary and a surveyed road along the northern boundary this site makes for easy walking and is within short distances to some of the best cellar doors in the Barossa. Kaiser Stuhl National Park is only a short drive away over the lookout at Mengler’s Hill and the Heyson Trail runs through the hill at the Eastern end. Permission may be needed to access other private properties adjoining, however. Wineries close by include Jacob’s Creek Visitors Centre, Rockfords, Grant Burge Cellar Door, St Hugo’s, Charles Melton, Moorooroo Cellar Door or Jacob’s Creek Retreat. Tanunda is only a 5-10 min drive away where a great range of food outlets and a wider range of cellar doors exist. The helpful staff at the Visitor’s Centre in Murray St can assist with answering questions and most services are catered for in the town’s centre. This site’s location lends itself to quite short or long term stays with close access to the fruits of the Barrosa. There are recharge and excellent public facilities at the Visitor Centre and links to Barossa Balloon Adventures if desired. The campsites are located on the pasture paddocks of the farm with sheep roaming the area, so dogs on leashes at all times, and please pick up after them. With large distances between other campers, each site can cater for large groups, with no close neighbours. The sites are at least 2km away from busy roads, so absolute peace and privacy! There's a beautiful push bike ride from Riverton to Clare Valley and all the wineries are along the way. Plenty of room at the property for kids to ride their push bikes. Fantastic sunsets and sunrises from all sites, and at its best at the SUNSET BAA. Beautiful bird noises, including the kookaburras having a laugh. There's a very very basic "long drop toilet" pit toilet located near the Gumtree paddock and 5 others shared, down close to the camping paddocks, if not wanting to use shared toilets, please bring and supply your own portable toilet. Great Hotels/pubs to dine in at Tarlee and Riverton. We live in a beautiful hidden valley on 30 acres, We're joined by friendly dogs, horses, alpacas, rabbits, guinea pigs, 2 lovely Camels, 2 cheeky pigs, Galloway cows and chooks, along with the resident wildlife including many birds, kangaroos, koalas, shy owls, and even an echidna! All this, plus beautiful views from atop our hills, right to the lake, and the delightful winter creek complete with frogs. We are close to the McLaren Vale wine region as well as wineries throughout the Hills and 35 minutes to the coast of Victor Harbor. The Greenman Inn is 5 minutes down the road and has wonderful food from Wed to Sun if you do not feel the urge to cook with wood fires for the cold nights or a gorgeous outdoor area for the warmer months. At present, we offer two areas for camping. Topspot which has lovely views and is quite secluded amongst the tree tops. This site is suitable for tents and camper trailers (need reasonable backing skills and 4WD) The Laneway which is close to the babbling creek is suitable for those with a small caravan, or motorhome, 2WD etc, along with tent campers. (but would struggle with large caravans/motorhomes - please check with hosts) (The Lookout/Highview has spectacular views Please note this site is currently closed due to stock rotation.) If you have any doubts about which to book, please ask. AUTUMN/WINTER MONTHS: if we receive considerable rain the trek up to the hill sites could become slippery and not accessible as it is a farm paddock, therefore unfortunately your booking may need to be cancelled. NOTE: On our farm there is limited phone coverage in the valley (The Laneway). Pets are welcome, however, please ensure they are kept under control (unless discussed with the host) at all times. We had a wonderful time staying at Sam and Chris’s farm. We loved the Laneway. Fantastic shade with the lovely creek. It overlooked the cows. Sam and Chris introduced us to all their animals. We met the camels, cows, Guinea pigs, rabbits, chickens and more. They were lovely to chat with and we will be back. We really appreciated the welcome basket and the voucher took us to the nearby winery of K1 wines. There are lots of beautiful places to visit nearby. This was a big family gathering for us and we made fantastic memories from it thanks to their hospitality.

Amazing views !! A beautifully kept site , with a clean private portaloo, firepit, wooden table and bench seat . I had a lovely relaxing time at the Topspot site , also was lucky enough to help feed the animals , pat a camel ,a friendly pig and my favourite the cows with their babies!! Hosts were very welcoming, and I was given a little goody basket on arrival! I will definitely be back and bring the hubby and dog next time . Truly is a fabulous spot to camp , I would recommend to anyone 😁

Great paddock for an overnighter, plus they have a Highland Cow (say less). We are on our way back to Perth from Melb and this served as a nice spot to pull in for a night. Freezing cold and rainy but the highland cow (Nin) and the cows next paddock over were a nice treat to say hi to despite the weather. We’re traveling in a swag with our dog. Paddock was level and fire pit was provided. No complaints! Thank you

Quiet peaceful and very private with only a few sites spread over a large area. Situated in a meadow with outlook to lots of Eucalyptus trees (species Eucalyptus Leucoxylon). Occasional kangaroos pass by. Great place to read and relax.
